With Caribou's massive remix of Virgo Four's "It's A Crime" being undoubtedly one of the year's best and most defining tracks, this second EP of remixes have a lot to live up to. Wisely, Rush Hour have elected to tread a less obvious path with their remix choices this time around, thus sidestepping any risk of trying to compete on a similar level, and the results are spectacular. Capracara and Scott Frasier deliver a lightly acid tinged remix of "Lites Go Out", detuning the vocals with sinister results, combining it all with jacking 808 rhythms. Hieroglyphic Being proves an inspired choice to occupy the B-Side with his "Pongo Remix" of "Boing", adding clattering rhythms and bass bounce to what was previously a deep house excursion, creating a dusty, mechanoid monster which bears almost no relation to the original, but is one of the most beguiling tracks to come from Rush Hour this year.
